Snow, Snow... How About Spring

We're sitting here for the second day in a row, not venturing outside due to the snow.  Whether good or bad, the kids are a little sick - just enough that they're not too miserable, and they're not trying to do each other in from cabin fever and boredom.  Kelly came out of the bedroom this morning with her eyes bigger than I ever thought they could get.  "Mom.  You HAVE to come see how much snow there is."  This was at 6:45 this morning.  The snow was half-way up the terrace wall (which is about 2 1/2 feet high).  It freezes before the sidewalks and street do, so we always end up with a couple inches more up here.

The snow is still falling now, at 12:30, and isn't looking to stop anytime soon.  By now, the snow is reaching to within 6" of the terrace wall.  Here's one photo, and I'll add another when we get our final amount.  I know this won't be a big deal to some, but this is a lot of snow for the city.  Too bad I hate winter so much that I won't take the kids out to play in it.  (But tomorrow is Saturday - Daddy to the rescue!)

I just finished a spring/Easter dress for the shop, and I can't even tell you how hard it was to finish it.  When it's so cold and wintery outside, it's hard to think spring, even when longing for it.  Next up is a boy's shirt for spring.  That is, if I can get my behind in gear!

One last note, and completely off subject.  I have donated a $50 gift certificate to help with adoption costs and travel costs for a family that is trying to bring home their son from China.  Here is a link to the blog.  http://www.bringingdrewhome.blogspot.com/
For a small donation, you can enter to win my certificate, or a host of other great stuff.  There are a lot of good causes out there, but it's not often we get the chance to have such a direct and dramatic impact on someone's life.  Let's bring Drew home.
